At the age of four Mikaela came home from kindy and begged her mum to put her into ballet lessons. Gaining distinction in all RAD examinations to Advanced 2, Mikaela was also a member of the New Zealand School of Dance Junior Associates and Scholars programmes and successfully competed in both regional and national. Moving to Sydney at the age of seventeen, Mikaela studied ballet full time at Studio Tibor for a year. Due to injury, she then returned home to Wellington and taught ballet for a few years before moving up to Auckland where she discovered Dance for Life Academy.
Mikaela has danced as soloist in DFLA productions as the Sugar Plum Fairy, the lead pointe dancer in “The Way You make me Feel” and in Paquita. She will bring to DFLA’s students the sharing of technical excellence, discipline and artistry and is so excited to be teaching again!
